Most buyers believe UPVC is the better material and plain PVC is lesser. But no one enforces these names. The same factory can call the same sheet either name depending on what you want to hear.
The name on the quote tells you almost nothing. What actually matters are a handful of measurable details.
1. "Is the thickness the same at the crest, the valley, and the overlap?"
Many suppliers measure only at the crest (the top of the rib), where the sheet looks thickest. But the valley and overlap edge are often 30-40% thinner — and that's exactly where sheets crack.
